SERVING OUR UNIVERSAL LORD

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

(Romans 10:14-15)

“ Simon son of  John, do you truly love me?...“Feed my lambs”  Jesus

“Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”                                                       (Matthew 25:34-36)

THE VISION
In the United States of America children are a large focus of ministry efforts and given great attention. God’s grace and our material wealth have led us to direct much activity for ministry to children. We have Sunday School instruction, special activities during the week such as AWANA or children’s choirs, holiday programs, Vacation Bible School and much more. S.O.U.L. VN Ministry also appreciates the importance of introducing children to Jesus Christ for God’s glory and their good. In light of the great need to improve efforts to bring the gospel to children, S.O.U.L. is initiating an exciting new plan to promote the expansion of God’s kingdom among some of the most overlooked members of Vietnamese society.
  WHO ARE THEY?
They are lost and needy children in an underdeveloped country. They belong to different families but are all have this in common; poverty and living in darkness! They struggle to have  enough food, clothing, medication, and education. And most tragically: they have no hope!  Two thousand years ago a little child came here to earth to save us from the punishment in eternal fire. Our gratitude now goes to our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. But saying we are grateful is not enough. As Christians, we need to do something to show our faith; to share His love to others by obeying Him in whatever He teaches us.
Jesus’ Word teaches us to think of people out in the world, and children are an important part of this teaching.   Three times Jesus told Peter: “Feed my lambs”; “Take care of my sheep.” and “Feed my sheep”. Nowadays, this teaching is for us.  God has given us compassion for them and we want to do some practical things to help, to show our love by giving to those who need spiritual and material support.    Some of these children’s daily lives are spent either hanging around their huts by themselves, or going to school and coming back home on their own while their parents are busy working for a living. Many children do not have enough food to eat, and going to school becomes a luxury. Rather than a box full of toys or a room for toys, these children don’t have even one toy.  There are children who have no option but to help their parents make a living by finding living things in the wet field or in the rivulets like fish, crabs, frogs, and  shrimp. . .for their meals. Others also help by working, but in the fields gathering grain or crops, weeding, or babysitting for money. Some of them rent themselves to serve as live-in maid for wealthy people to help their families even though they are of middle school age....
They need our love and help! Hopefully, some of us will be moved by God to help the Children’s Ministry so we can soon be able to minister to them by providing food to eat, clothes to wear, a toy to play with, education, and most importantly  ministry to bring them to God to receive salvation. We pray that God’s Holy Spirit will guide you in a special way to join us in this effort
Special Considerations for the ministry:
1.        The children are very open to the Gospel.
2.        Children encounter opposition to living for the Lord from their parents.
3.        Children are impoverished materially as well as spiritually.  They lack clothing, food, shoes, medical care, literacy, etc.
6.        The churches are in great need for additional teachers for ministry to children, training for the teachers, Christian books and other materials, and supplies.
WHAT CAN WE DO?
To respond to this wonderful opportunity to reach the children of Vietnam for Christ S.O.U.L. VN engages in the following:
1.        Training of the evangelists for effective gospel presentations and ministry for the children.
2.        Partnering with the evangelists to supplement their living expenses and enable them to:
  • Teach the children the gospel so that they can be born again and grow in Christ.  Support them to deal with opposition to their faith.
  • Teach the children who are illiterate to know how to read and write so they can read the Bible and use their literacy to grow spiritually.
  • Disciple the children.
  • Transport and involve the children in the ministries of the local churches.

4.        As God allows and through your partnership we will supply educational materials, food, and medical care for their health.

Please pray about your involvement.  What great love our Father has for the little ones and what a privilege for us to be His instruments of love!!!
