The Great Commission On Sundays, we Christians of the free world dress up, take the Bible with us, hop in a car and drive our families to a beautifully decorated church to worship God. There, we go to Bible class, discuss with friends the blessings we received from the Lord, and chat with other church members while waiting to go into the sanctuary. We sing beautiful songs praising the Lord accompanied by an orchestra playing all kinds of modern musical instruments. We are blessed. We are free to worship our God.
Across the Pacific ocean, 88 million people are living under a Communist regime. Only a very small part of the population are Christians (less than 1%). On Sundays, only some of these Christians have a church to come to worship God. They put on their best clothes and walk for miles to get to a shabby church, their hands wthout a Bible to carry (many do not have money to buy one). Some don’t have a church to go to and others sneak into a house church which hasn't received registration to exist. Once they arrive to church, the blessed Christians who have a nearby church to walk to, happily go to Bible class to learn the Word of God. During worship they sing hymns loudly and joyfully and they pray wholeheartedly: they are putting all their hope in the Lord. After church, usually in late afternoon, they walk back home without any food in the stomach. Even so they feel nurished because they have worshipped the Lord and have listened to His teachings. They take things one day at a time. They cannot go to church every Sunday because the walk is long and sometimes it rains in the morning. They can get wet after church but they cannot get wet before church.
Everyday, these Christians suffer all kinds of persecutions, such as: mental abuse from threats, insults, mockeries, and assaults with beatings and other hardships. Somer are refused the right to use water at public wells, refused the supply of electricity......They need help to stand firm, to keep alive their faith and to continue their worship of the Lord in spite of the persecution and hardships.
The majority of the population, some 80 million people spend their Sundays at home, enjoying drinking parties or gambling gatherings. Spiritually they are living in desperation and darkness, they are slaves of dark powers, and they have no hope beyond their earthly life. They need help to know the gospel, to come to the Lord and ask for forgiveness of sins and salvation. S.O.U.L. VN Ministry is committed to help Vietnamese Christians remain firm in their faith and assist the believers as they pour their lives into presenting the Lord Jesus Christ and the plan of salvation to the 88 million people of their land. The Country: Vietnam
Why Vietnam?
This is a country that just got out of a forty-year war. The government authorities are opening the doors of religious freedoms. God has coordinated the environment and the hearts of the people for a powerful reception to the gospel.
We are sure that, with the help of Christians in the free world, Vietnam will become a Christian country soon. S.O.U.L. VN is seeing a great revival that is bringing about societal transformation that could penetrate the entire country and will definitely change the eternal destinies of millions of souls. What a privilege to recruit worshippers for the risen Lamb!!!
